Josh Wilson
I graduated as a physiotherapist in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree from Teesside University. I have since studied for qualifications in musculoskeletal injection therapy and non-medical prescribing. I have specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy for the past 4-years and currently work as a First Contact Practitioner in South Tyneside. After tearing my ACL last year, I have also developed an interest in the rehabilitation of the lower-limb, and enjoy spending part of my role supporting patient rehabilitation in community gym spaces.
Outside of my clinical work, I have guest lectured at multiple North East Universities to physiotherapy, podiatry and physician associate students. This is where I developed my interest in education and continued professional development.
In 2022, I decided to develop this interest with an application to the North East Musculoskeletal Society, NEMS. I spent my first year as the research officer and this year have taken on the role as the CPD officer. NEMS offers a unique opportunity to work with likeminded individuals to improve the standards of musculoskeletal care from our base in the North East of England. I hope to continue to contribute to the production of high quality CPD opportunities for local clinicians with a vested interest in offering high quality musculoskeletal care.
